A workshop during Dutch Design Week. Decorate your own MOCA porcelain piece in cobalt Delft blue and try our dripping technique. Join us (Carla & Jordan) at our Eindhoven studio, in Strijp-T, for a hands-on workshop around a contemporary take on Delft Blue.

What you'll do

At MOCA Tableware, we produce white porcelain in-house, combining industrial and handmade processes. One of our signatures is a self-developed dripping technique: cobalt-coloured glaze poured over the piece by a machine we built ourselves, leaving patterns no one can fully predict. During this workshop, we open up that process and put it in your hands.

You’ll decorate your own MOCA porcelain piece in cobalt blue, using traditional method and our dripping technique. There’s no single right result, the point is to find your own interpretation of the blue through the tools and gestures we guide you through. No ceramic experience needed.

What's included?

Your ticket covers one 19cm porcelain plate to decorate.

Want to make more? Additional MOCA pieces are available to buy and decorate on the day, glazing and firing included.

How the workshop runs?

Doors open 30 minutes before start with coffee, tea, and a short introduction to our studio, our practice, and Delft Blue as the starting point of the workshop. From there, you’ll have around 2.5 hours to work on your piece. We demonstrate each technique before you try it, and we’re there throughout for questions and feedback. We close around the table, looking at everyone’s pieces together.

Your piece(s)?

We glaze and fire your work in the studio after the session. Once ready, collect it from the studio or arrange shipping. You’re welcome to browse the full MOCA Tableware collection during your visit.

Your hosts

The workshop is run by Carla Joachim and Jordan Morineau, the two designers behind Studio Joachim-Morineau and MOCA Tableware, working together since graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2018. Discover our work here.
