A handmade porcelain espresso cup with a unique blue dripping pattern.
This handmade porcelain espresso cup is crafted in our workshops in Eindhoven & Nantes. Each cup is unique.
Created in Eindhoven with our dripping machine MOCA, each pattern is different due to the codes we use and the colored porcelain we mix for dripping. It means the blue intensity and height pattern vary between series. You can choose between two different pattern variations: full or open.
You can also find our espresso cup set on our webshop.
This handmade porcelain espresso cup features a unique blue dripping pattern, crafted in our workshops in Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Nantes (France). Every cup is made individually using our MOCA dripping machine, so no two cups are ever identical. Whether you are treating yourself or looking for a unique gift for a coffee lover, this handmade porcelain espresso cup is a thoughtful and lasting choice.
At 85ml, this cup is the ideal size for espresso, macchiato, cortado, and ristretto. It is also stackable, saving space in any kitchen.
We offer two pattern options for this handmade porcelain espresso cup:
Each cup is handmade individually, so slight variations in colour and shape are part of the process – and part of the charm. You can also order our espresso cup set of 2 if you want a matching pair.
First, we programme a specific dripping rhythm into our MOCA machine. Then, we drip blue-tinted porcelain inside a plaster mould. Next, we pour liquid white porcelain over the pattern. The plaster absorbs the water over 4 to 6 minutes, forming a solid porcelain wall. After that, we remove the excess porcelain and let the cup dry overnight. The next day, we trim the edges and stamp ‘Moca’ on the base. Finally, we bisque-fire at 1020 °C, glaze the interior with a food-safe transparent coating, and fire a second time at 1240 °C.
This process was born from our graduation research at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where we built our first MOCA dripping machine to explore the intersection of technology and craft. Today, we continue this work in both our Eindhoven and Nantes workshops.
We carefully wrap each cup in tissue paper and place it inside a sturdy gift-ready box. In addition, all orders are insured against transport damage – if anything arrives broken, we send replacements immediately. Free shipping applies to European orders over 90 euros. In accordance with EU consumer rights, we accept returns within 14 days of delivery.
