A set of 2 handmade ceramic espresso cups with unique blue dripping patterns. This espresso cup set is crafted in our workshops in Eindhoven & Nantes. Each cup is unique.
Each pattern is different due to the codes we use and the coloured porcelain we mix for dripping. The blue intensity and pattern height vary between pieces. Choose between full, open, or a combination of both patterns.
You can also find our single espresso cup on our webshop.
This handmade ceramic espresso cup set contains two unique porcelain cups, each with a different blue dripping pattern. We craft every piece in our workshops in Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Nantes (France) using our MOCA dripping machine. As a result, no two sets are ever identical. Whether you are looking for a unique gift for a coffee lover, a couple, or a housewarming, this handmade ceramic espresso cup set is a thoughtful and lasting choice.
Each cup in the set holds exactly 85ml, making it the ideal size for espresso, macchiato, cortado, and ristretto. Both cups are also stackable, saving space in any kitchen.

First, decide how you want to combine the two cups in your set.
We offer three options:
– Full + Full: both cups with a dense, full-layered dripping pattern.
– Open + Open: both cups with a lighter, open dripping pattern.
– One of each: one full-pattern cup and one open-pattern cup, both styles.
Each cup is handmade individually and is unique, so slight variations in colour and shape are part of the process – and part of the charm.
We start by programming a specific dripping rhythm into our MOCA machine. Then, we drip blue-tinted porcelain inside a plaster mould. Next, we pour liquid white porcelain over the pattern. The plaster absorbs the water over 4 to 6 minutes, forming a solid porcelain wall. After that, we remove the excess porcelain and let the cups dry overnight. The next day, we trim the edges and stamp ‘Moca’ on the base. Finally, we bisque-fire at 1020 °C, glaze the interior with a food-safe transparent coating, and fire a second time at 1240 °C.
This process was born from our graduation research at the Design Academy Eindhoven, where we built our first MOCA dripping machine to explore the intersection of technology and craft. Today, we continue this work in both our Eindhoven and Nantes workshops.
We carefully wrap each cup individually in tissue paper and pack the set inside a sturdy gift-ready box. In addition, all orders are insured against transport damage – if anything arrives broken, we send replacements immediately. Free shipping applies to all European orders over 90 euros. In accordance with EU consumer rights, we accept returns within 14 days of delivery.
